FUNSAR with SARTECH II certification

This is a NASAR course that teaches the fundamentals of search and rescue including: rope techniques, compass navigation, tracking, clues, and map reading. Students will be able to complete the SARTECH II Technician evaluation at the end of the course.

Students should bring: Insect spray, and closed-toe shoes suitable for all terrains. Long sleeve shirts and pants are required in the field. Those staying on campus will need to bring: pillows, clothes, and toiletries.

Due to increased documentation needed for grant-funded classes we need you to make sure you fill out all the information correctly. Registration does not guarantee you a spot in the class.
- If you don’t put your Hourly Rate you will not be accepted into the class
- If you do not enter your MOHS ID correctly you will not be accepted into the class. (See below)
- We really need your Fringe Benefit rate. This helps us show the local agencies ‘investment back into the grant-funded classes and the TaskForce. In the future funding will require like-kind investment by locals. This is one way you can show a like-kind investment without coming up with matching funds. If you take advantage of any grant funding classes and want to continue getting grant-funded classes please include all rates on your registration.
The importance of your MOHS ID. This ID number allows us to marry up all paperwork we track for the TaskForces such as certifications, training records, deployment cost, specific agency reimbursements, and many other documents.
Your MOHS ID should be entered as (First 3 Letters of Last Name First 2 Letters of First Name Last 4 digits of SS# with no “-“) Example for Kevin Lundy 123-45-1234 should be LUNKE1234
Spell out your fire department’s full name in the Company Name field. ie. Gulfport Fire Department. Please do not use abbreviations or initials such as GFD or Gulfport Fire Dept.
